Diploma in Quality Management

Over the last 5 years, the Sri Lanka Association for Quality has been developing a more strategic perspective of the quality profession and has investigated the implications that current trends across business sectors will have on our profession.

SLAQ took initiatives to “study the future” and determine what actions to take in supporting the quality movement and its cadre of professionals.

One of the action is to introduced a Diploma Course in Quality Management which will serve as training for the ASQ examination. Course contents of the Diploma Course is developed based on the Body of Knowledge for CQM and CQE examinations.

Diploma in Food Quality Assurance

With the growing concern on safety of food, it is important that industry employ quality assurance staff who are well knowledgeable and competent in quality assurance in food processing activities. The trainees will be guided to develop their own food quality assurance programmes which will be vital in operating a food processing industry both for local and international markets. The diploma course introduced by SLAQ will provides an opportunity for industry personnel to learn on modern quality management techniques specially meant for the food industry.

International Examinations

ASQ Examinations

A global examination and certification service to individuals, enabling them to demonstrate their understanding of international and other standards. SLAQ is the only authorized body in Sri Lanka to conduct all American Society for Quality (ASQ) examinations such as Certified Quality Manager, Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Software Quality Manager, Certified Auditor, Certified Quality Technician etc.

IQA Examination

An accredited Diploma in Quality Management of Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA) UK is offered in Sri Lanka in association with Quality International Technical Services (Pvt) Ltd. This diploma is equivalent to degree and lead to continue studies with MSc.

Events

National Quality Convention, Quality Exhibition, Conferences and Seminars are  set up periodically to allow networks of quality personnel in business to get together and discuss the latest developments.

4^th National Quality Convention

The 4^th National Convention on Quality is scheduled to be held on 9-10 September 2004 at BMICH.

 

The theme of the convention will be “Quality… It’s a Way of Life”.

 

The target audience for the Convention will be CEOs, Managers and Executives of Quality, Laboratories, Societies, NGOs and Consultants, Quality Practitioners and Heads of Departments.

 

 

1^st National Quality Exhibition

The first exhibition on quality will be held from the 10^th to the 12^th of September 2004 at Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Center.

 

The exhibition will be open for the trade on the first two days and will be open for the public during the last two days, giving the opportunity to the exhibitors to make contact with targeted visitors from the trade and also gain exposure amongst the public.
